Delta Ijaw Students Announce Date for 2024 Convention

The National Association of Delta Ijaw Students (NADIS) has announced schedule for its 2024 elective convention.

According to the schedule made public on Wednesday, the convention will hold between May 3 – 6, 2024 at Ogulagha, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

This was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Ayigo Festus – President, Comrade Godgift Brisibe – Secretary and Dorin Francis – Planning Committee Chairman.

THE ROLE OF STUDENT’S LEADERSHIP IN POLITICS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the role of students in shaping the future of our there communities and nations cannot be overstated. The theme of our convention tagged THE ROLE OF STUDENTS LEADERSHIP IN POLITICS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT stands as a beacon of anticipation that delves into the importance, challenges, and opportunities surrounding student leadership in politics and community development.

The Impact of Student Leadership in Politics and community development entails how students shall engage in political processes, advocate for their communities, and influence policy decisions at local, national, and international levels. More so, showcasing their capacity to address pressing social issues to drive sustainable change by initiating and implementing innovative community development projects.

Student politics plays a vital role in fostering political awareness, promoting freedom of speech, and developing leadership skills among young individuals. It provides a platform for students to engage in public discourse, address their concerns, and shape the political landscape.

By actively participating in student politics, students become better equipped to navigate the complexities of the real world and contribute meaningfully to their community development. It is crucial to recognize the significance of student politics and support its role in nurturing the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of our society.

As Part of our contributions towards community development the students community have taken upon their self to carry out a community health care service across Delta ijaw Local governments on Malaria and Typhoid due to the high rate of morbidity and mortality recorded in our rural communities. This disease conditions majorly affects individuals like pregnant women, lactating mothers, youths, aging parents and majorly children between the age of 1-10 years been infected and killed by Malaria Parasites and Salmonella Typhi Bacteria daily in our rural communities.

This program is to create awareness and Educate our parents, lactating mothers and pregnant women the preventive measures to curb malaria and Typhoid disease in our rural communities, given out of Treated Mosquito Tent (NET) by insecticide, Carry out of malaria and typhoid Test, Checking of vital Signs and Treating of individuals (Patients) with such Diseases condition by given out free Drugs (Medications).

This is part of our our community Health Service and contributions towards community Development in our rural communities as students body.

The convention is slated to hold between May 3 – 6, 2024 at Ogulagha Community, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State

Having said that, we employ this medium to express our heartfelt gratitude to all members, stakeholders and various chapter presidents, Political leaders, contractors, NGO’s, Individuals and Traditional rulers for the continuous support given to us from the commencement of this administration till date, as we accolade you for your previous support, contributions, we further indulge your full attention, support and solidarity as we work towards achieving this great project and feet.
