Media practitioners under the flagship of Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF) have congratulated the five lawmakers representing Ijaws in the Delta State House of Assembly on their inauguration.

The forum particularly congratulated Emomotimi Guwor of Warri South West Constituency, on his emergence as Speaker of the 8th Delta State Assembly.

The forum also charged the lawmakers to work in relation with other colleagues towards moving bills for the general betterment of their constituencies.

Calling on the lawmakers to prioritize the development of coastal areas, the forum in a statement signed by Ozobo Austin and Tare Magbei, acting Chairman and Secretary respectively, said;

“We congratulate the Rt. Hon Emomotimi Guwor of Warri South Constiutency on his emergence as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. This is indeed a great pride to all Ijaws in Delta State.

“We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo – Burutu I, Peres Oloye – Burutu II, Emmanuel Sinebe – Patani and Preyor Oboro – Bomadi, on their successful inauguration as members of the 8th assembly.

“On this note, we call on all Ijaw lawmakers to work hand-in-hand with their colleagues in the Assembly to move bills that will drive the development of their constituencies.

“While we celebrate your elevations, we also charge all Ijaw representatives to prioritize the development of the coastal areas they represent such as providing improved education, health, infrastructure, power and otherwise.

“We urge them to ditch out quality representation to make their reigns in the assembly remembered for good.
