Lagos State Assembly Passes Anti-Open Grazing, VAT Bills

Anti-Open Grazing Bill

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday passed a bill for the prohibition of open grazing across the state.

A bill on the State’s Value Added Tax (VAT) was also passed into law.

Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the acting Clerk, Olalekan Onafeko to transmit a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assent.

The bills were passed after unanimous votes by the lawmakers during Thursday’s plenary.

Speaker Obasa commended his colleagues for their passion for ensuring that the state continues to grow.

“I thank you all for this historic exercise,” the Speaker said.

The House held separate public hearings on the bills on Wednesday with stakeholders expressing support
