Meta to Verity WhatsApp Business Accounts

Meta has announced expansion plans for its verification program to WhatsApp business accounts.

Meta initially tested the verification program on Facebook and Instagram, with merchants in select geographies, but it planned to roll it out to businesses on WhatsApp at a later stage.

Businesses can purchase a subscription to Meta Verified at $21.99/month per Facebook page or Instagram account.
They can also pay $34.99/per month for both.

Just like Meta Verified for creators, Meta Verified for Businesses benefits included a badge, better reach, and impersonation protection.

The company offered the same badge to businesses as the one offered to creators.

The tech giant said that paid business users will see their account at or near the top of search results.

Also, they will show up in a new carousel in the feed called “Recommended Meta Verified Businesses.”

Meta’s Vice President of business messaging, Nikila Srinivasan said on Tuesday:

For businesses interested in signing up, Meta Verified will come with additional premium features including the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers. We’ll begin testing Meta Verified soon with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app before introducing it to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.”

The firm also announced the launching of Flows feature that will allow businesses to “provide rich menus and customizable forms that support different needs,” and that it “will make Flows available to businesses around the world using the WhatsApp Business Platform in the coming weeks.”
