Mum Seeks N7m For 7-Month-Old Daughter’s Heart Surgery

Esther Ereniyi, mother of a seven-month-old Favour, who was diagnosed with a hole in her heart has come out to appeal to Nigerians to help save her daughter’s life.

Documents sighted by Daily Report Nigeria on Tuesday, show that Favour was diagnosed with the heart condition about three months after her birth on August 6, 2022.

The mother said she found out about Favour’s sickness when she started breathing fast and was rushed to Isolo General Hospital thereafter.

She said, “My daughter was treated for a month before we were referred to Massey Street Children’s Hospital in Victoria Island at the Paediatric Cardiology Unit two months ago.

“From there, she was referred to Babcock University Teaching Hospital for heart surgery. That was when they directed us to run a test which revealed that she had a hole in her heart. The doctors, therefore, told us that only heart surgery will erase the defects.”

Esther has come out to say the price for the surgery was finalized at 7m and it is expected to take place at Babcock University Teaching Hospital or she will be taken to Tristate Health Care System, Lekki Lagos.

“I am appealing to everyone to help me. I don’t want to lose my daughter. Please, help me. The baby finds it hard to breathe, and he is always in pain due to the multiple holes in his heart. He is in discomfort,” she added.

Donations for Favour’s treatment can be sent to FCMB account, 1002276881 with the account name, Ereniyi Favor.
