Rising Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems were on Sunday been arrested in Uganda following an alleged flouting COVID-19 guidelines.
The duo were arrested at the end of their performances at The Big Brunch, an event which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda.
Confirming the singers arrest was the Assistant Superintendent of Police and Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luk Owoyesigyire, Kampala Metropolitan Police.

Officer Luk in a tweet via his Twitter account stated that Dungu Ivan, the manager of the venue where they performed and Prim Kasana, the event manager were arrested alongside the artistes.
The police boss tweeted, “Nigerian Artist Omah Lay has been arrested by Katwe police, the manager of the venue, one Dungu Ivan and the events manager, Prim Kasana are also in custody. More details to follow.
“Temilade Openiyi Aka Ms Tems (Artist) also been arrested with her manager, Muyiwa Awomiyi.”
Findings revealed that organizers of the event disguised the show as a lunch and dinner event but later on at night, started inviting musicians to perform.
All arrested persons are being charged with doing “acts that are likely to cause the spread of infectious disease, Covid-19.”
Recall that president of Ugandan, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, suspended music concerts upon the outbreak of the pandemic and that directive still stands.
