Presidential Tribunal: No Backing Out — Obi

The Labour Party, (LP) Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has said he will not back out on his plan to follow the legal root to reclaim the people’s mandate.

Obi gave the reassurance at an LP stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The former governor of Anambra State said instead of backing out, he would explore every option and follow it to its logical conclusion in court.

The LP flagbearer in a post on his Twitter page, said the meeting with stakeholders was constructive and also had a discussion about taking the party forward.

Obi said:

Earlier, I interacted with the Anambra State Labour Party Stakeholders in Awka. The meeting was quite animated and constructive. Part of our discussions centred on the way forward for the party.

“I reassured them of my readiness to go all the way, explore every available legal option to ensure that we get our mandate back. I appreciated all their support so far, as I assured them of mine. PO.”

Recall that President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared winner of the February 25 presidential election, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2nd and Peter Obi who came third.

Tunubu has since then been opposed by Atiku, and Obi who claimed their mandate was stolen.
