Roy Keane Weighs in on Premier League Title Race Amid Opta’s Supercomputer Predictions

Roy Keane

Roy Keane, the former Manchester United captain, has shared his thoughts on the Premier League title race following adjustments made by Opta’s supercomputer, particularly highlighting Arsenal’s increased chances by 7.6 percent.

Initially, Liverpool were favored to win the title after a victory against Brighton, while Arsenal’s draw with Manchester City contributed to their lower odds. However, the landscape shifted after Liverpool’s draw with Manchester United and wins for Arsenal and Manchester City against Brighton and Crystal Palace, respectively.

Opta’s analysis now shows Liverpool’s chances reduced to 31.3 percent from 45 percent, while Manchester City’s odds have risen to 39.7 percent from 33.6 percent. Notably, Arsenal has seen the largest weekly increase, climbing from 21.4 percent to 29 percent.

Discussing the matter on Sky Sports, Roy Keane expressed his views, stating:

“I’m not really sure [about Opta’s supercomputer].

“It certainly wouldn’t bother Arsenal. I try to put myself in each camp here. If I was in the Arsenal camp, I’d be quietly confident with winning the league.

“If I’m in the Liverpool camp, I wouldn’t panic, taking a draw [with a late goal]. If I’m in Man City’s camp, I’m comfortable too. All three teams fancy their chances.

“Winning league titles is difficult. You need a bit of luck and your top players performing. I wouldn’t take too much notice [of the supercomputer].”
