Tinubu Appoints New NCC Chairman, Others

President Bola Tinubu has removed the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Danbatta, and appointed Aminu Maida as his replacement.

The sweeping change also affected the Postmaster General of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) and the CEO of Nigeria Communication Satellite Limited (NigComSat).

The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale.

Nkechi Egerton-Idehen will take over as the MD/CEO of NIgComSat, succeeding Tukur Mohammed Lawal Funtua.

Tola Odeyemi has been named as the new Postmaster General / CEO of NIPOST, replacing Sunday Adepoju.

Ngelale stressed that the new appointments were effective immediately.

However, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the DG / CEO of NITDA, and Dr Vincent Olatunji, the National Commissioner / CEO of NDPC, will continue in their current positions.
