Troops Recover Arms From IPOB, ESN Camp in Anambra

The Nigeria Army’s 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B Operation Whirl Stroke stationed at Fikyu successfully raided a terrorist camp in Taraba State.

The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 magazine with 10 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition.

It was said that the troops acted on intelligence after receiving reports from residents of sporadic firing in the Pukun village of Fikyu in the Ussa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state on Monday.

In another development, troops deployed to Kofai Ammadu and Kasuwan Haske in collaboration with troops from Sub-Sector 1A OPWS arrested a suspected kidnapper Dogo Manu in Vingir Village of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State. The troops acted based on intelligence regarding the hideout of terrorists in the area.

The Acting Assistant Director, 6 Brigade Army Public Relations Oni Olubodunde issued a statement that troops of 20 Model Battalion Sub-Sector 3A OPWS while on night patrol around Gangdanbana and Kwanar Maliki in Bali Local Government Area apprehended one Junaidu Isiaka. The suspect was found with four sacks of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa.

Security agencies have had him on their watchlist for his involvement in illegal drug deals and supplies to terrorists and other criminal elements operating within the general area.
