UCL: De Jong Names Strongest Football Club in the World

Nigel de Jong, ex-Manchester City’s midfielder has named the strongest team in the world.

The former Dutch footballer has chosen Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea among the strongest clubs in the world.

The 36-year-old yesterday disclosed this following Blues’ 4-0 triumph over Juventus in the 5th round of the UEFA Champions league (UCL) fixture on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the former Milan star had monished Manchester United from relishing beyond normal following their Champions league’s win over Samuel Chukwueze’s side, Villareal on Tuesday.

Recall, the Red Devils just appointed Michael Carrick as their care-taker manager following the sack of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer on the 21st after United’s 4-0 loss to Watford.

De Jong therefore said that United’s last triumph over Unai Emery’s men is nothing more than a warm-up ahead of the weekend’s League clash against the leaders Chelsea.

De Jong told Sky Sports:“It will be a massive test.”

“I think that you know the game from yesterday was a warm-up for the game that is coming up over the weekend.”

“Chelsea’s completely different team, we saw that yesterday destroying Juventus in the Champions League and they are by far one of the strongest teams in the world.”

“So he [Carrick] has to really prepare his team for this game. And I said what I said before, Villarreal was a warm-up game into this game.”

“I don’t want to take anything away from the performance, Villarreal was for 60 minutes the better team. This is going to be a different game.”

“The only thing I can take out of this is that the confidence was there and necessary in order to go against Chelsea. So this win yesterday was more than only a win. It was a win with a lot of intentional going forward for the game against Chelsea.”
