Wizkid Makes History at Headies Award 2022

Afropop singer Wizkid made history after winning five awards during the 15th Headies Award on Sunday night at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.

The singer recorded the most awarded in the history of the Headies with a total of 20 awards.

Wizkid’s hit single song “Essence” feat Tems won song of the year, best collaboration best R&B single respectively.

Additionally, he assumed winner of the ‘Album of the Year’ for his ‘Made in Lagos (Deluxe Edition), and as Best Afrobeat Album.

In 2011, Wizkid won his first Headies award with his song, ‘Holla at your Boy’ in the Next Rated category.

This year’s ceremony was the first to be held outside Nigeria
