Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez praised his players after their thrilling 3-2 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash on Wednesday.

Raphinha put the LaLiga giants ahead, but PSG turned the game around with goals from Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha.

However, Barcelona showed resilience, leveling the score again with another goal from Raphinha before Andreas Christensen’s header secured the victory.

“We played well, we defended well and attacked. Tactically we did really well. They changed a lot of players, we defended [Kylian] Mbappe really well.

“We created many chances, Raphinha and Robert [Lewandowski] made the difference, Pedri helped us a lot. Very happy and very proud of the team.

“[Andreas] Christiensen also with the corner, we did so well. Big win but half work, game in Barca will be tough. PSG is one of the best teams in the world right now,” Xavi told TNT Sports.
