“Every four years, we’re mandated to canvass for votes. Some of you where not here last time, when I came here asking for your support, which you gave massively. I’m grateful for that support and I want to say thank you.”

“Once again I appeal to you that as lawmakers, we’re not constitutionally limited on number of tenures to remain in chambers.

“This business of lawmaking is like a wine, the older it gets, the better it gets. It’s not what I can do for myself, hence I want to solicit for the people of Burutu to see me as good enough to represent them a third time.

“I’ll be asked of my achievements in the last six years or so, and I show them to you,” Pondi said while displaying his scorecard using slides.

The lawmaker exercised confidence that while he was yet to pact all 77 communities in the Constituency, he has bee able to attract a feasible project to all 11 wards.

According to Pondi, a third term will put him in the place of a ranking member of the House, making him fit to become principal officer, which will further make his job more effective.

“It is an interesting job I enjoy a lot. I’ve met with different characters of people cutting across various religions. Once you’re a ranking member, it places you at advantage to become a principal member.

“Going back will put me at an advantageous position to become a principal member, which will help me attract more projects to our people.

“As we all know, Burutu is a large local government with 77 communities. I may have not touched all of them, but I am proud to say that I’ve affected all the 11 wards that make up Burutu.”

“I want to say that the job you gave me to do, I judiciously utilized it to do all of these. I have come to appeal to you for another term to continue in attracting more development for our people.

“Do me the favour by voting for me to represent the people of Burutu effectively for another term,” Pondi solicited.

On his part, Clement Wagha, Councillor Kiagbodo Ward 8 said,
“We know that the business of lawmaking is not an easy one, but you’ve been able to show a very robust scorecard. It shows that you’ve written your name in gold.

“Your voice has been very loud on the floor of the House. You have been an effective representative.

“Myself and the entire people of Ward 8 Kiagbodo, will mobilize to see that you’re returned to the Green Chambers. I pray that the same God who saw you through the first two tenures, will see you through again.”

Francis Lincoln Tubotu from Ward 18, who attested to the projects contained in the scorecard of the lawmaker, also threw his weight behind the third term bid of Julius Pondi.

On his part, Otoro Ayaboutu, Ayakoromor Ward 7 said working with Pondi was a good project.

“I assure you that you have our support. I only want to urge you to remain focus in representing Burutu people effectively,” he said.

Deputy Leader of the Burutu Legislative Arm, Akpos Brisibe charged the lawmaker for more attention to be given to women development in his next tenure.

Leader of the House, Spencer Takeme commended Pondi for being a good representative in the last six years. He prayed that his third term ambition will come to pass.

“You have been an effective representative no doubt. I went through your archive as leader of the Burutu Legislative Arm, and I saw that your records were unbeatable.

“I have no doubts that you will perform well even in a third term. With that assurance, I want to say that we are behind you on this journey,” he said.
