Delta has now joined Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Ondo states in signing the anti-open grazing bill to law.

Recall that Southern Governors Forum had unanimously agreed to ban open grazing in a bid to put a final halt to clashes between farmers and herders.

The meeting where the agreement was reached was first held in Asaba as September 1 was picked as the deadline for all states to pass the anti-open grazing law.

Meanwhile, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has already dumped the open grazing system in Ondo while embracing the feedlot system introduced by the Ondo State Government as an alternative method to rear livestock.
