In an open letter titled ‘The Incorrectness Use of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Task Force by the Okowa Administration; A Call on the His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff Oborevwori’, Idoro said;

“The placement of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Task Force on the Benin/Sapele High Way by the Okowa Administration is another means of extorting the people.

“A Road that has the Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIO, The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC and the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.

“As if the presence of this personnel were not enough, the Okowa led Administration decided to install his boys as Task Force of the Internal Revenue to milk vehicle owners whose vehicles has a default in any of his or her papers, including being extorted for lack of gadgets like fire extinguisher.

“The previous administration did not attempt to relieve the people of Delta State of the untold hardship ocassioned by the Buhari Government, rather, he decided to aggravate it by installing touts to further exploit the people where he could have carried out palliative majors on the road to ease vehicular movement as there are so many damage vehicles occasioned by the bad road.

“This was one of the major reasons Okowa was woefully rejected by the people of Delta State in the just concluded Presidential Election, which is a clear show of a failed Government which thrived on illegal and unimaginable anti-people policy.

“Vehicles are being asked to pay between #10,000 to #30,000 in cash before they are released by the said Okowa Task Force on the Benin/Sapele High Way without any evidence of such payment.

“What then, is now the Job of the VIO, FRSC and the Police since the Government decided to empower touts to do same Job which is supposedly already being done by men of these three different authorities?

“I hereby call on His Excellency,
Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State not to toe the wrong path of his predecessor by continuing the illegality of Governor Okowa who empowered touts and to put to an end the unrealistic job of those Task Force who are there to forcefully extort vehicles owner, so that His Excellency will not face the same rejection and disapproval faced by Okowa his predecessor, during the last general election.”
