Bandits Attack Kaduna Community Kill One, Kidnap 45 On Christmas Day

Bandits on Christmas day attacked Angwan Aku community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State killed one person and kidnapped 45 others.

It was gathered that the attack took place while Christian faithful were getting set to attend church services on Christmas Day.

According to report, bandits in their hundreds who rode on motorcycles, parked their bikes along the road before invading the villages, shooting indiscriminately.

A source said the gunmen went from house-to-house to pick their victims.

The source added that at the end, they went away with 53 victims, but seven people escaped while one person was killed.

The source further said that at the moment 45 of the villagers are with the bandits.

“The bandits struck at about 10.00am on Sunday, being Christmas Day, when Christians were getting set for Church services. They were in large numbers. They came on motorcycles but they parked by the roadside and moved from house-to-house to attack residents,” the source said.

“They killed one person on the spot and made away with 53 but seven escaped and returned home. 45 people are still with them,” he added.

There was no official confirmation of the attack from either the state government or the state police command.

Meanwhile, before the Christmas Day attack, one Namu Ishaya from Karamai Maro, also in Kajuru Local Government Area was killed by bandits.

His brother, Moses Ishaya, said Namu was killed after payment of ransom.
