Bandits Kill Ransom Bearer in Kaduna

Bandits in Kaduna State have reportedly killed a volunteer ransom bearer who was attempting to secure the release of a kidnapped village head.

The victim, Abdullahi Haruna, a member of the First Aid Group of Fitiyanul Islam, was fatally attacked while delivering the undisclosed sum of money to the bandits.

The incident occurred at Sabon Layi Kidandan, Giwa Local Government Area, on Wednesday at approximately 2:00 p.m.

A vigilante member, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the tragic news to the press.

As a result, residents of Kidandan village were now living in fear and apprehension.

According to a youth leader in the community identified as Jamil, the bandits had demanded a ransom for one of their captives.

Haruna bravely volunteered to deliver the money, but tragically, the bandits took his life instead.

They shot him for resisting to follow them into the bush. This happened in the daytime with people watching at Sabon Layi.”
