BREAKING: DSS Recover Huge Cash,Military Uniforms From Tukur Mamu’s Home

Large sums of cash in different currencies and denominations alongside records of financial transactions have been recovered from the residence of bandits’ negotiator, Alhaji Tukur Mamu.

The items were recovered when the Department of State Service raided Mamu’s home and office in Kaduna.

Daily Report recalls that the media adviser to controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Gumi was intercepted by Nigeria’s foreign partners in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, while on his way to Saudi Arabia.

The publisher of Desert Herald Newspaper was arrested alongside his two wives and sons.

Though, they were flown back to Nigeria on Thursday, Mamu was arrested by the DSS upon touchdown at the Kano Airport.

His arrest was followed by a raid in his residence and office, with the DSS carting away computers and documents.

In a statement on Thursday by the DSS Spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya, said incriminating items were recovered from Mamu’s residences.

“Appropriate security agencies have executed valid search warrants on Mamu’s residence and office.”

He said that during the process, “Incriminating materials including military accoutrements were recovered.”

Other items recovered include “large amounts in different currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments.

“While further investigations continue, Mamu will, sure, have a day in court,” he added.
