Philip Shaibu, Edo State Deputy Governor, Monday disclosed that in his political pursuit, he was hurt and humiliated by those opposing his ambition.

The Deputy Governor, While declaring his intention to run for the state 2024 governorship poll, claimed he fought good fights to liberate the people from bad leadership.

His statement may not be unconnected with the political rift between him and his boss, the state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

According to him, “I have fought the good fight for you my people, along the way, suffered humiliations and enjoyed many moments of victory but I am thankful in all things.

“I have been pressed but not crushed, persecuted but not abandoned, badly hurt but not destroyed. I resonate with the tireless and irrepressible spirit of the Edo people”.
