FG Reacts to Arrest of Bandits’ Negotiator, Mamu in Egypt

The Federal Government has distanced itself from the arrest of Alhaji Tukur Mamu, the lead negotiator between bandits and the families of passengers kidnapped from the attacked Abuja-Kaduna train in March.

Reports stated that Mamu was arrested on his way to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj.

He was arrested in Cairo, the capital of Egypt at the International Airport.

Commenting, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed distanced the federal government from the arrest of the lead negotiator.

Mohammed stated this on Wednesday while speaking with State house correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the executive council of the federal government.
