Five Human Part Dealers Arrested in Ogun

Five suspected human parts dealers have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command.

The Police Spokesman , Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta on Sunday, said the suspects were arrested on Saturday in Odogbolu.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspects specialize in exhuming corpses from graves and removing body parts for ritual purposes.

The suspects, Oshole Fayemi (60), Osemi Adesanya (39), Ismaila Seidu (30), Oseni Oluwasegun (69) and Lawal Olaiya (50) were arrested at their hideouts while planning to carry out an operation.

The suspects were arrested following intelligence received by the Police at Odogbolu Divisional Headquarters, that the gang was planning to carry out another round of human parts harvest within Ososa town.

“On interrogation, the suspects made confessional statements that they were into the business of exhuming corpses from their graves and that they used to sell parts of such corpses to their standby buyers who need them for money-making rituals.”

The police spokesman added that the state Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution
