Gunmen Kidnap Mother, Two Children in Kwara

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a mother and her two children in Omu-Aran, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The victims were said to have been abducted on Friday evening while in their room.

The incident occured around 7pm near a petrol station at Oko junction area in the ancient town.

The kidnapped woman who had a shop somewhere in the area was reportedly the wife of the owner of the nearby petrol station.

In a bid to accomplish their mission, the gunmen encroached upon the area and petrified the residents with a number of shootings up in the air.

Subsequently, two of them brought out the woman and her two children out of their room at gun point, put them into their car and drove off.

Two okada riders were also reported to have sustained serious injuries in the process, having been hit by stray bullets from their gunshots.

However, at press time, the okada riders were said to be healing at the hospital they were rushed to.

Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the command said that he has not been apprised of the incident when contacted.

His statement reads: ” I am not aware of the incident, but I will get back to you as soon as I am officially briefed of the development.”
