INC Echoes Sustenance of Ijaw Heritage With Cultural Fiesta

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) over the weekend, added action in its quest to see the sustenance of the Ijaw culture and heritage among sons and daughters.

This is as the inaugural edition of the Ijaw International Cultural Fiesta held on Friday and Saturday at Bomadi, Delta State.

The fiesta put together by the aped Ijaw body witnessed the presentation of different aspects of culture for the fourth largest tribe in Nigeria.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, INC President, Prof. Benjamin Okaba stressed that ‘sustaining the Ijaw culture and heritage is one among many objectives of the INC.”

The event was chaired by HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo (Agada IV), Chairman Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom.

Activities included wrestling, boat regatta, fashion parade, Anda Ogele, dance display and Owigiri contest.
