Women, Youths Protest Against Oborevwori Over Relocation of Ozoro University Faculties

Women and youths of Ozoro community took to the streets to protest against Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the relocation of two faculties from the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the Faculties of Administration and Management have been relocated out of Ozoro to the proposed Orerokpe Campus.

The protesters comprising of women and youths blocked the Ozoro/Kwale/Asaba Expressway to demonstrate their displeasure with the move by the Governor.

According to the protesters, the said the relocation of the faculties from the institution will hamper economic activities in the town.

Bearing placards with varying inscriptions, the protesters demanded for Oborevwori to maintain status quo with regards to the relocation of the faculties.

Travellers going to Asaba and Onitsha in Anambra State have been forced to take alternative routes.

The move by the governor has since attracted condemnation from multiple fronts since it became public.

If the move by Oborevwori materialises, the new campus will be cited in his own community of Orerokpe.
