Otuaro Mourns Lion of The Niger, Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu

The immediate-past Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro has mourned the death of popular Ijaw monarch, HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Pere Ayemi-Botu’s demise was announced by the Seimbiri Traditional Council on Friday.

Reacting to the announcement, Otuaro in a statement on Saturday, said the passing of the Lion of the Niger leaves a “profound void” in the Niger Delta.

Otuaro’s statement reads;

“With a heavy heart, on behalf of my family and political associates, I offer my deepest and sincerest condolences to the people of Ancient Seimbiri Kingdom as they mourn the loss of their beloved king, HRM. Pere Charles Ayemi-botu.

“His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his people and the entire Niger Delta region.

“Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu was not just a ruler; he was a beacon of hope and a fierce advocate for the rights and welfare of his people. His voice reverberated through the land, and he was one of those very few kings who are outspoken and championed the cause of the Niger Delta with unyielding passion and determination.

“His dedication to social justice and equality was unwavering, making him a true pioneer in the fight for a better future.

“In this moment of sorrow, we must acknowledge the immense impact His Majesty had on his kingdom and beyond. His wisdom, accumulated through years of leadership and life experience, was a source of guidance and wisdom for all who sought his counsel.

“His departure leaves behind a void that cannot be easily filled.
The loss of such an influential and outspoken king is deeply felt, for his absence comes at a time when his wealth of knowledge and expertise are desperately needed.

“As we reflect upon the legacy of HRM. Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu, his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. We extend our support and prayers to his immediate family and the Seimbiri Kingdom, during this period of mourning, standing beside them as they grieve the loss of a remarkable and cherished leader.

“May his soul find eternal peace, and may his tireless spirit continue to inspire us to carry on his work for the betterment of the Niger-Delta and Nigeria at large.”
