Police Burst kidnappers Hideout in Imo

The Imo State Police Command Special Tactical Unit, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has bursted kidnappers hideout in Imo State.

Based on credible intelligence, and
in synergy with some local hunters, the police aided a suspected kidnapper’s den in a forest between Avu and Ihiagwa on January 29.

The operation resulted in the arrest of five suspected kidnappers, namely Muazu Awuta (30 years), Abdullahi Abubakar (32 years), Ozeru Sabo (25 years), Saddam Suleiman (27 years), and Bashir Yahaya (28 years), all of Jau LGA of Jigawa State.

During the operation, the Command’s spokesperson stated that two decomposing unidentified corpses suspected to be kidnapped victims were discovered.

Also, telephones, wristwatches, shoes, and slippers were recovered.

The Command intends to carry out further DNA confirmatory tests to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

Five operational motorcycles of the suspected kidnappers were also recovered.

The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and have provided useful information to the Police that will lead to the arrest of other syndicates at large.
