Pondi Empowers 350 Constituents of Burutu Federal Constituency

The lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Julius Pondi on Sunday, empowered 350 constituents with starter packs.

Daily Report Nigeria reports the scheme formed the twilight of the lawmakers election victory thanksgiving service at Sokebolou, his hometown.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pondi attributed the scheme as an offshoot of his continued resolve to meeting the needs of his constituents, who deemed it fit to elect him a third time.

The beneficiaries drawn from all eleven wards in the constituency were empowered with starter packs in the forms of grinding machine, hair dressing kit, motorcycles, and sewing machines.

The exercise was flagged off by Governors Umaro Bago of Niger State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Senator Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, who was represented by the Commissioner for Ijaw National Affairs, Erasmus Patrick.

Presenting the items to beneficiaries, the governors commended Pondi for doing the most for his constituents in terms of infrastructure, bills and human capital development.

They charged the beficiaries to make good use of the items for themselves and for the good of the economy of the constituency.

The empowerment scheme was preceded by a thanksgiving service at the Church of God Mission, Sokebolou.

According to the youthful lawmaker, he owes his present status as member of the 10th National Assembly to God’s grace and mercies.

Pondi also expressed gratitude to the entire people of Burutu Federal Constituency for their goodwill and trust in his leadership acumen.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Environment further assured the constituency of more dividends of democracy in the remainder of his representative years at the Green Chambers.

Other dignitaries present at the event included Speakers of the Bayelsa and Delta State House of Assemblies, colleagues of Pondi at the House of Representatives, Senator James Manager, Chief Tunde Smooth, Sir Matthew Tonlagha, Chief Kestin Pondi, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso (Chairman PDP Delta State), Commissioners, and others.
