Security Agencies Rescue 16 Abducted Almajiri Children, 1 Woman in Sokoto

Security forces in Sokoto State, in collaboration with their counterparts in Zamfara, have successfully rescued sixteen kidnapped Almajiri children and a woman.

They were abducted in the Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State two weeks ago.

The rescue operation carried out in coordination with the office of the National Security Adviser, resulted in the safe recovery of the victims.

Earlier, the suspected terrorists had contacted the teacher of the Tsangaya school, demanding ransom, as confirmed by the Sokoto State Police Command.

Fortunately, after two weeks, the Sokoto State Government successfully rescued and rehabilitated the abducted Almajiri children and the elderly woman.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu said:
I am really overwhelmed being that all the abducted children were rescued unhurt.”

Garrison Commander of the 8th Division Brigadier General Alexander Tawasimi also commenting on the rescue operation said:

This is a result of deliberate efforts by all security agencies, both here and that of Zamfara State, to ensure free passage of all abducted children.

“So, we want to thank God Almighty for making this possible for us.”
