Sowore Steps Down As Party Chairman, Emerges Presidential Candidate of AAC

A presidential aspirant of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore has stepped down from his position as the national chairman of the party.

Sowore who stepped down on Thursday at the presidential primary of the party said that the Constitution of the party does not allow him to be the chairman while contesting for its presidential ticket.
He was declared the party presidential flag bearer at the party’s national convention which took place at Work and Connect Event Center in Abuja on Thursday, and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, he has what it takes to lead the country to a better place.

He said, “I don’t want to be like other politicians, so, I will step down.

“Other parties elected thieves as their prepaid their candidates, ours is different. We are young people who are digital-oriented.

“We have the mind and the agility to move around.”

Recall that a Court of Appeal in Abuja on June 2, 2022, affirmed Sowore as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress.
