Auto Crash Kills 3 Family Members, 7 Others in Kwara

An auto crash along the Jebba-Bode Saadu in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State has claimed the lives of at least 10 persons.

The victims are said to include three members of same family and seven others.

The sad incident occurred around on Sunday, October 17, involving two vehicles in Onipako.

A red colour Toyota Corolla car with registration number AAA 250 CB and an ash colour commercial Toyota Hiace bus with registration number LAP 179 XA were the vehicles involved in the crash.

According to the Kwara State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jonathan Owoade, a total 26 people were involved in the crash; 20 males and six females.

Mr Jonathan revealed that all six female occupants of the vehicles died in the crash, while the 15 males suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The corpses of the victims have since been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin, while the injured were taken to Jebba Medical Centre and Emmanuel Hospital, Jebba.

The victims were all residents of Okelele community in the Ilorin East Local Government Area of the Kwara state.

Three of the victims members of Babaladifa Sauta family, with two wives of one Alhaji Babaladiffa among the victims.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq paid a condolences visit to the families of the victims on Monday.
