Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi pleaded on Thursday with political stakeholders in the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain loyal in order to give him home-based support in the presidential election in 2023.

Bello made the request during the formal inauguration of members of the APC’s newly elected state executive council at the state party secretariat in Lokoja.

“As 2023 approaches, our big project, the presidency, must be carried out with strong faith and belief.”

“This is because anything the people’s minds can conceive and believe in can be realized by the grace of God,” he explained.

Bello, who was represented by Deputy Governor David Edward-Onoja, also urged members not to get tired of supporting the APC “because by doing so, you are indirectly supporting me, your governor.”

The governor, on the other hand, urged the newly elected party officials to be committed to uniting the entire state.

“Whenever you meet, speak, or deliberate as executive members, oneness, and unity should be the watchword and bedrock of your communication,” he advised.

He praised the executive members, both old and new, for their tenacious efforts to ensure that the APC remains the party to beat in the state.

Earlier, on behalf of the executive council members, Mr. Abubakar Bello, the new state APC chairman, stated that they would remain loyal and committed to the party.

The chairman pledged the party’s leadership’s readiness to unite the people of Kogi for peace in order to open the door to growth and development.
