The sacking followed the team’s woeful performance at the ongoing 2021 African Cup Of Nations, AFCON.

The 68-year-old was relieved of his duty after an emergency meeting by Ghana Sports Ministry on Friday, 21st.

Meanwhile, the Association has previously hesitated to sack the Serbian manager before reaching the final straw after the Black Stars were outshined by Comoros in a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

Prior to his U-turn, Rajevac had first managed Ghana sometime in the past when he led them to the finals of the 2010 AFCON and the Quarter finals of the 2010 World Cup.

However, his second spell was not fruitful as he drove the team to a no-victory three matches which resulted in being eliminated at the group stage of the ongoing 33rd edition of AFCON.

Meanwhile, Rajevac has coached many other national teams including Qatar in 2011, Algeria in 2016, Thailand in 2017-2019.

In addition, the Serbian has also managed various clubs including Al-Ahli, Rudar Velenje, to mention but a few.
