The ministry’s decision comes after an investigation by Daily Nigerian that one of its reporters had purchased a certificate from a university in Benin Republic.

Mamman, who berated Nigerians with fake certificates as criminals, has vowed to flush them out of the system.

In light of the investigation, the federal government has suspended the accreditation of certificates from two francophone universities, including the Benin Republic University in question.

Meanwhile, despite lingering controversies surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University (CSU) certificate, the present administration is making efforts to combat the fake certificates menace.

Checks revealed that the Supreme Court rejected fresh evidence on Tinubu’s certificate forgery scandal to affirm his electoral victory.

However, the issue has continued to elicit reactions from Nigerians.
