IPDI Backs Calls For Relocation of Presidential Amnesty Office To Niger Delta

The Ijaw People’s Development initiative, IPDI, renowned for it’s agitations towards the development of the Niger Delta has thrown its weight behind the calls for relocation of the Presidential Amnesty Office to Niger Delta region.

This the groups insists will cause the programs to effectively and efficiently serve it’s beneficiaries.

The call was made by the National President of the the group, Comrade Ozobo Austin, in lieu with the suggestions earlier made by Elder Comrade Morris Alagoa, a Niger Delta front line environmentalist and others.

The group emphatically insists for President Muhammadu Buhari to order the immediate relocation of the Presidential Amnesty Office to the Niger Delta region, as it had to do with the people of Niger Delta.

Ozobo reiterated that relocating the amnesty Office to the Niger Delta would help to serve the people better, saying it would end the undue inference of meticulous northerners and other criminals elements in the program.

He further stated that the relocation of the office would reduce corruption and manipulations of accounts and stipends of beneficiaries of the programme.

He asserted that the move would make various contractors and successive coordinators to be accountable and focused.
