Man Arrested After Friend Died of Tramadol Overdose in His house

The Delta State police command has arrested a man simply identified as Samuel following the death of his teenage friend who died in his (Samuel’s) apartment due to alleged overdose of tramadol.

It was gathered that the deceased died on Thursday, April, 7 at about 2pm in the afternoon in Samuel’s apartment at Okuku Street, Ovwian town in Udu Local Government Area.

The suspect was said to have bought the drugs in large a quantity which he consumed with the deceased before he went to play football in the area leaving behind his friend in the house.

On his arrival from the field, he met his friend unconscious in the house. He raised alarm but a nurse near confirmed he was already dead.

Neighbours of the suspect and residents in the area who spoke in anonymity said the consumption of hard drugs and misbehaviour of the duo was too much in the area.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.

However, Samuel, is still being kept in custody at the Ovwian Police Station.
