Students Beat Up Teacher For Refusing to Allow Malpractice

A group of ten senior secondary school students in Ogun state reportedly ambushed and attacked a teacher named Kolawole Shonuga, for stopping one of them from cheating during an examination in the school.

The incident happened on Tuesday at Isanbi Comprehensive High School, Ilisan-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.

It was said that Shonuga, while invigilating an examination for the SS 1 Art class students, caught one 18-year-old Ashimi Adebanjo, cheating and seized his paper.

After school hours, Adebanjo gathered his fellow students and they waylaid the teacher at the school’s gate, assaulting him.

After school, the students ganged up, waylaid the teacher, and beat him up at the school’s gate.

According to an eyewitness, one of them, Kazeem Adelaja allegedly hit the teacher with a stick while others joined in beating him.

The police spokesperson, Omotola Odutola, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the 10 suspects.

It was further gathered that the suspects have already been arraigned in court for assault.
