Dino Melaye Laments Gang up After Losing Kogi West’s PDP Ticket

Former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye has decried an unimaginable level of gang up prior to his losing the Peoples Democratic Party’s ticket a second time.

Melaye lost the senatorial ticket to the the incumbent lawmaker representing Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal constituency, Tajudeen Yusuf.

Melaye, who represented Kogi West in the 8th Assembly scored 99 votes behind Tunji, who polled 163 to clinch the ticket.

The rerun election was conducted on Tuesday in Kaba after the two aspirants had scored 88 votes apiece for during Monday’s PDP primary election.

Taking to Twitter to congratulate his opponent, Dino also decried an alleged gang up against him.

He said, “The primary has been fought and won. I congratulate Hon. T.J YUSUF and thank all those who voted in the first and second ballot for me.

“The gang-up is unimaginable but l give God praise. God bless you all. SDM.”

Meanwhile, a former banker, Dr Victor Adoji clinched PDP ticket for Kogi East and would fly the party’s flag in the general elections in February 2023.
