The former Liverpool knocked on VAR following a lengthy review before Danny Ings’ goal was disallowed.

It took three minutes and 36 seconds for Darren England and Michael Oliver to overturn the decision for Ings’ equaliser.

The goal was disallowed as Jacob Ramsey from the visiting team was adjudged to have blocked Edinson Cavani.

The former Rangers manager therefore reacted to the unnecessary delay saying it took the wind out of their sails.

Gerrard reacted when asked about the VAR’s decision:  “How long have you got? The officials took three-and-a-half minutes to settle that one.”

“The linesman said it was to do with Jacob impeding Cavani’s run.”

“It wasn’t that complex to need three-and-a-half minutes and it’s disappointing as we were in a good place at the time and that took a bit of sting out of the game.”
